Question 81 – How Can The Catholic Church Be The True Church When The Pope Attacks The Latin Mass?

Interview Organization: Confraternity of Our Lady of Fatima
Interviewer Name: Christopher P. Wendt
Date: January 13, 2022
The Pope is not the Church, the Church is the Mystical Body of Christ. The Pope, though a member of the Church, is also a sinner, not God or an angel. Even sinful Popes cannot destroy the Church, which is in Christ’s hands. The Church’s strength lies in the hearts of pure souls, including saints, families, and faithful individuals. We must pray for strong, faithful pastors to guide the Church.

Transcript:

The pope is not the Church. This is a wrong attitude, to see that the Church is the Pope. The Church is the Mystical Body of Christ. The Church is not a mystical body of the Pope or the current pope. We have to abandon this vision. This is wrong. The Pope is also a member of the Church, we have to state this, he is a member of the Church. Even Our Lady is a member of the Church, of the Mystical Body of Christ, and the angels.

The Pope is also a poor sinner. He is not God. He's not an angel, but a poor sinner as well. There are even some examples in the history of the church where Popes were poor sinners, and great sinners, who damaged the church. But this demonstrates that the church is not a private business company of a pope but the Church is in the hands of Christ. Even a bad Pope cannot destroy the Church.

The Church is more powerful than the evilest Pope. We have to tell the non-Catholics that the Catholic Church is greater. St. Augustine even said that the Catholic Church started with just Our Lady, the apostles, and all the saints who have lived. This is the Catholic Church. It is alive and is still living in the hearts of pure souls today among children, young people, parents, families, hidden religious sisters, other courageous priests and laypeople, and souls who are suffering for the Church.

They are living in the Church. It is there where you can find how to live the Catholic faith, this is our way. Pray to God that He will intervene and will give us again strong, powerful, Catholic-minded pastors and shepherds.
