Bishop Athanasius Schneider states that Church councils remain human acts, even when assisted by the Holy Spirit, and are not divine words. Only Sacred Scripture and Tradition are God’s Word. Pastors should act with humility, avoid exaggerating councils, and resist ecclesial anthropocentrism within the Church and its pastoral life today overall.
