Bishop Schneider suggests that Freemasonry may influence clergy, including bishops and cardinals, though proof is difficult due to secrecy. He cites a Vatican priest publicly supporting Freemasonry, linking its principles to one-world ideologies and materialism. He criticizes naturalistic reinterpretations of the Gospel, emphasizing Christ’s sacrifice is for souls, not ecology or nature.

Dr. Taylor Marshall: Is this true? Do you think there are Freemasons operating inside the clergy and even within the episcopate?

Bishop Athanasius Schneider: We can assume this, though we do not have proof. Freemasonry is so organized that it is nearly impossible to have juridical proof. It is a secret society, and they are so clever and crafty that you can never demonstrate it fully. However, there are bishops, cardinals, and priests who, when they speak, sound like Freemasons. They even use some Freemason jargon and defend typical Freemason principles. Whether they are actual Freemasons or not, they are implementing Freemason principles.

Recently, a priest, a monsignor who is a member of a Vatican dicastery, publicly advocated for and praised Freemasonry. To me, this is already an outing of himself. A recent article in Correspondential Romana confirmed that this priest is a member of a Freemasonic Lodge. The Freemasons’ last ambition appears to be Vatican recognition. They have already achieved the recognition that all religions are equal through the Abu Dhabi declaration and through the Pachamama cult, which was clearly idolatrous.

For me, this public support from the Vatican monsignor is a step in this direction. It is, in some way, a kind of indirect pressure on the Vatican. We can assume that there are forces within the Vatican that are very friendly to Freemasonry and that are implementing its principles: one world government, one world religion in some form, one world education, one world ideology. They also support materialism and naturalism, which we now see echoed in ecologism, the climate change religion, and the new Amazonian nature religion. They reinterpret the Gospel in naturalistic and materialistic terms, suggesting Christ died for nature, for the rivers, and for the Amazon, rather than for immortal souls.

This is a perversion of the Gospel. Christ did not become man and die on the cross to ensure better ecology in the Amazon. He died to save human souls, and only through the salvation of human souls will ecology and nature be truly restored. If people do not receive sanctifying grace and do not do the will of God, the environment will suffer. When humanity is saved through Him, then nature and ecology will also be saved.
