Bishop Schneider calls for reforms to restore justice and peace in the Church. He advocates for dignified sacred music, more Gregorian chant and polyphony, limiting Protestant-style music, and increasing the use of Latin in Masses. He urges prayer for Pope Leo to strengthen faith and restore liturgical order, supporting traditional Latin worship.

Bishop Schneider: This is the minimum for justice and peace in the church. The next step, I think, should be reformed. Of course, the music should return to dignified sacred music, more Gregorian chant, to spread it all over the world, and dignified polyphonic music, and to stop these Protestant-style, Pentecostal forms of guitars and so on. This should be stopped. This is not worthy of Catholic worship. This is worldly and goes in the direction of paganism, of indiscipline in worship. This is indiscipline. And then, of course, another element of this, I would say, is to use more Latin. This would be an important step. It could be done when the Pope issues a norm, that, let us say, is only an example, that in every cathedral, shrine, or greater church, the entire mass, with, of course, exceptional readings and so on, should be celebrated in Latin at least once a month, at least the ordinarium and the sun. It could be, and then for monasteries and religious communities, it should be compulsory that the conventional daily mass be in Latin, with exceptions, of course, for readings and so on. In this way, Latin will also be more of a language of Catholics all over the world, especially in our day, when we are more united through travel and trips and so on. I think these five elements could be introduced step by step. I believe that divine providence will guide the church in this direction.

John-Henry Westen: Bishop Schneider, I want to thank you so much for your time and your generosity, and also ask you, if you wouldn’t mind, to please give us all your blessing for 2026, that we might fulfill the will of the Lord this year and be ever faithful to Him as was His holy mother.

Bishop Schneider: Thank you. I will do this. I will ask all listeners to pray fervently for Pope Leo, that he might receive God’s light and illumination to recognize the necessity to issue a kind of profession of faith regarding the errors of our time, to strengthen us and confirm us in faith, in the clarity of faith. And second, that Pope Leo might receive from God the illumination and then the will to restore liturgical peace in the church, to give full citizenship to the traditional Latin liturgy. This is the minimum for justice and peace in the church.
