Bishop Athanasius Schneider calls on Pope XIV to relieve the disproportionate treatment of Traditional Catholics. He also discusses how some Catholics are being marginalized for their love of the traditional liturgy. He urges church leaders to practice true inclusivity, listening to all, not just select groups, within the Catholic Church.

Bishop Athanasius Schneider: “So I would especially invite those bishops who are, unfortunately, persecuting Catholics who love the traditional liturgy, who are marginalizing them. Even so, these same bishops appeal to synodality, to listening to others, to being inclusive. But there is one, and only one, a category that is persecuted in our day in the Church: Catholics, young people, families, children, who love the Mass of their ancestors, who love the Mass of the saints.

And for this one reason alone, they are humiliated. They are excluded. This is an injustice. We must state this. We must speak out with concern; this must be healed.

And I appeal to Pope Leo: please heal these wounds. Please come to the aid of your children, who are persecuted and humiliated by so many bishops. Please help them and reintegrate them. Give them the freedom to worship as the Lord has always been worshiped through the traditional liturgy.”
