Well try to educate your children first. The motivation must always be love so that the children notice that parents, even when they give prohibitions, explain the reason. This is positive and not negative. Of course the child cannot suddenly understand everything but at least it will remain in the memory of the child that they were forbidden to do something because the parents explained it and said why. In this way the children may recognize the negative aspects and consequences of acts they were forbidden to do in order to prevent them from harm and also to encourage them positively to do good things, to motivate them, and to give them rewards because this is very necessary at this age for children to be encouraged to do good and to learn.
Even children can already begin to accept crosses in a spiritual way in a Christian way connecting to the cross of Jesus Christ. Little children are very open to this so it prepares children and then youth for life and for accepting the cross because Christian life and human life without the cross are not possible. We are living in the valley of tears but we are called to greet the cross and accept it in our life with God's help with the vision of union with the Holy Cross of the Lord and with his sufferings which bring blessings healings and rewards for eternal life.
