October 2021 – Catechism Lesson on the Role of the Angels in Fatima and the Role of the Angels With Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Interview Organization: The Confraternity of Our Lady of Fatima
Interviewer Name: Christopher Wendt
Date: October 13, 2021
The apparitions and messages of Our Lady of Fatima cannot be fully understood without those of the Angel of Fatima. Both are intrinsically linked. The angel’s words prepared Our Lady’s central message: “Make of everything you can a sacrifice to offer it to God as an act of reparation.
If you like what we do and want to regularly support our mission to build the Reign of Mary and/or assist the episcopal ministry of Bishop Athanasius Schneider, please consider becoming a Servant of Mary.

Christopher Wendt: Good afternoon. Good evening, Your Excellency. Good evening to everyone watching the live stream on Facebook, YouTube, and the website. Welcome to this afternoon’s broadcast of the Confraternity of Our Lady of Fatima.

Today’s program will proceed as follows: His Excellency will give us a talk on the role of the angels in Fatima and their role in the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. After that, he will lead us in a celebratory Rosary for the one-year anniversary of the Confraternity of Our Lady of Fatima. That will be followed by a four-minute video summarizing some of the apostolic work we’ve done in 2020 and 2021. I will then close with a few remarks, and His Excellency will conclude with his apostolic blessing.

Your Excellency, could you please start us off with a prayer?

His Excellency: In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. Amen.
Pater noster, qui es in cælis: sanctificetur nomen tuum. Adveniat regnum tuum. Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in cælo, et in terra.
Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie, et dimitte nobis debita nostra sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris. Et ne nos inducas in tentationem, sed libera nos a malo. Amen.
In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. Amen.

His Excellency: My dear brothers and sisters, all who are listening today on this day of Our Lady of Fatima, commemorating the last apparition and the miracle of the sun, and on the one-year anniversary of the Confraternity of Our Lady of Fatima I would like to speak to you about the extraordinary prophetic meaning of the message of Fatima, the angel of Fatima, and Our Lady.

The ineffable wisdom and mercy of God’s providence grant to every age of human history and of the Church’s history those means of aid and help which are most necessary in order to heal spiritual wounds and to save man from great spiritual and material disasters.

Usually, God intervenes at the most crucial moments of human and sacred history through authentic prophecies, which are examined and accepted by the Church. Such divine interventions have occurred throughout the history of the Church and will continue to occur until the end of time.

At the beginning of the 21st century, now, today, the war against God, against Christ, and against His divine commandments has been unleashed almost on a global level. This is seen particularly through blasphemous attacks against God’s creation of the human being as male and female, by means of the dictatorship of so-called gender ideology, and through the public legitimation of all kinds of sexual depravity.

And now comes another horrible phenomenon: the fetal industry, an industry that abuses the cells, tissues, and cell lines of cruelly murdered unborn children. This industry is growing every day, and one of its most well-known products is the abortion-tainted vaccines.

In the 20th century, Communist Russia was the most powerful and wide-ranging instrument for spreading atheism and waging war against Christ and His Church. This war was explicit and frontal.

Through the Bolshevik October Revolution in 1917, Satan began to use the largest country in the world and the largest Christian nation in the East to fight openly against Christ and His Church.

On July 13, 1917, Our Lady spoke about the imminent danger that Russia would pose in spreading its errors throughout the world.

One could not have imagined the truly apocalyptic scenario of the persecution of the Church and the spreading of atheism that Russia would begin just a few months later, at the end of October 1917.

The apparitions in Fatima thereby demonstrated their overwhelming prophetic meaning.

As the main remedy for the theoretical and practical atheism into which humankind has plunged in the current epoch of history, Our Lady indicated the following: the prayer of the Holy Rosary, the veneration and devotion to her Immaculate Heart with the practice of the Five First Saturdays, and the consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart.

Contempt for God’s commandments godlessness leads to the eternal damnation of many souls.

In her messages at Fatima, Our Lady indicated that sins against chastity and disregard for the sanctity of marriage are the most frequent causes of eternal damnation.

Our Lady told Saint Jacinta the following:

“The sins that bring most souls to hell are the sins of the flesh, and certain fashions are going to be introduced which will offend Our Lord very much. Those who serve God should not follow these fashions. The Church has no fashions. Our Lord is always the same.”

Imagine these words of Our Lady: The Church has no fashions.

Moreover, Our Lady said, “Many marriages are not good. They do not please Our Lord and are not of God.”

Then Our Lady told Jacinta, “If people would know what eternity is, they would do everything to change their lives. People will be lost because they don’t think of the death of Jesus Christ, and they do not do penance.” These are the words of Our Lady.

Our Lady came to Fatima mainly to make an urgent maternal appeal to save souls from eternal damnation. She therefore showed the children the unspeakably horrible reality of hell. At the same time, she indicated the only way to avoid hell: the way of penance, in its twofold dimension, acts of penance as a means of stopping sin and doing reparation for one’s own sins, and vicarious penance, as acts of reparation for sinners in view of their conversion.

In the third part of the Secret of Fatima, God gives us the following shocking image with an invitation to do penance. I quote from the third part of the secret of Fatima: “We saw an angel with a flaming sword in his left hand. Flashing, it gave out flames that looked as though they would set the world on fire. But they died out in contact with the splendor that Our Lady radiated towards him from her right hand. Pointing to the earth with his right hand, the angel cried out in a loud voice: Penance, penance, penance!”

The Church and the faithful in our day have to proclaim again with more vigor the divine truth of eternal condemnation and of hell, in order to save immortal souls who otherwise would be lost for all eternity. The existence of an eternal hell is a truth of faith, defined by the Church in councils, symbols of faith, and documents of the magisterium.

Our Lady of Fatima considered it so important and pastorally efficient that she showed the little children hell. Sister Lucia narrates, “That vision only lasted for a moment, thanks to our good Heavenly Mother, who at the first apparition had promised to take us to Heaven. Without that, I think that we would have died of terror and fear.”

Our Lady then said to the children these words: “You saw where the souls of poor sinners go. In order to save them, God wishes to establish in the world the devotion and veneration to my Immaculate Heart.”

So, St. Jacinta’s example, as shown in the following quotation, should profoundly touch us, touch in every place, every Facebook, and of course every Bishop and the pope himself, and move them to concrete works and deeds.

St. Jacinta, “The vision of hell is horror to such a degree that every penance and mortification is nothing in her eyes, if it could only prevent souls from going to hell. Jancinta often sits on the ground or on a rock and explains, “Oh, hell, hell, how sorry I am for the souls who go to hell”. She told to her brother Francisco, “Francisco, are you praying with me? We must pray very much to save souls from hell, so many go there.” And other times, she asked, “Why does not Our Lady show hell to sinners? If they see it, they will not sin just to avoid going there. We must tell Our Lady to show hell to all the people, we will see how they will converted”. And other times, after thinking for a while, Jancinta said, “So many people falling into hell, so many people”. To quieten her, as said, “Lucia, don’t be afraid, you are going to heaven”. “Yes, I am”, St. Jacinta said, “but I want those people to all go to heaven”.

So, a particularly important significance of the message of Fatima consists in reminding the church and humanity of our time of the reality of sin and of the catastrophic and life-threatening consequences. We possess, why it possesses sin intrinsically such a gravity and tragedy, it is because sin offends God His infinite majesty, His infinite holy and wisely Will.

This is precisely the cause of the unconceivable malice of sin. Our Lady said to the children at Fatima, “Man must amend their lives and ask pardon for their sins. They must no longer offend our Lord, who is already so much offended.”

Sister Lucia wrote these words: “The part of the last apparition which has remained most deeply imprinted on my heart is the prayer of our Heavenly Mother begging us not to offend Almighty God anymore, who is already so much offended.”

Our Lady told Sister Lucia these words: “The good Lord is allowing Himself to be appeased, but He Himself complains most bitterly and sorrowfully about the small number of souls in His grace who are willing to renounce whatever the observance of His laws requires of them.”

This is close to the famous statement of Pope Pius XII, who said in 1946, “Perhaps the greatest sin in the world today is that men have begun to lose the sense of sin.”

Being sin, and in the first place mortal sin, the greatest of the spiritual misfortunes, one of the main pastoral tasks and duties of the Church consists in warning people of the danger of sin, preaching to them about the real gravity of sin, leading them to authentic repentance through the grace of God, and saving sinners from eternal death through prayers of intercession and acts of vicarious reparation.

The ministers of the Church, the churchmen, should never minimize sin. They should never speak ambiguously about what is a sin. Neither explicitly nor implicitly should a churchman confirm a sinner in his sinful lifestyle.

They should never do this. For example, some churchmen of our day confirm divorced people who are remarried in this lifestyle, encouraging them to continue in sin. Others confirm people engaged in homosexual activity, affirming them in continuing this behavior. Still others confirm people who are committing the sins of the fetal industry, allowing them to continue producing these products without protest.

Such an attitude is highly anti-pastoral. It is comparable to a mother who would speak ambiguously to her child while seeing the child approaching an abyss. Indeed, such an attitude would not be that of a true mother.

The reality of sin necessarily demands penance and expiation. These are also central elements of the messages given by Our Lady in Fatima for our time. Our Lady in 1916, the angel spoke to the children in the same spirit in which Our Lady would speak in 1917.

The angel told the children: “Offer up everything in your power as a sacrifice to the Lord in reparation for the sins by which He is offended and in supplication for the conversion of sinners. More than all else, accept and bear with resignation the sufferings that God may send you.”

On July 13, 1917, Our Lady said, “Sacrifice yourselves for sinners and say often, especially when you make some sacrifice: ‘O my Jesus, it is for love of Thee, for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer this sacrifice to Thee.’”

The apparitions and messages of Our Lady of Fatima cannot be truly understood without the apparitions of the angel of Fatima. Both sets of apparitions have a mutual and intrinsic relationship. The words of the angel already prepared the central message of Our Lady with these words: “Make of everything you can a sacrifice to offer it to God as an act of reparation.”

However, the most important significance of the apparitions of the angel consists in his message concerning the Eucharistic mystery.

Already in 1916, the angel spoke that Christ, in His mystery quotation, is horribly outraged. Hardly anyone in the Church of those days could imagine that such horrible outrages against Christ in the Eucharistic sacrament would be perpetrated to a terrifying and widespread degree, even in the midst of the Church, as is the case in our day. This is mainly because of the practice of giving Holy Communion in the hand and, at the same time, the indiscriminate admission of unrepentant public sinners to Holy Communion.

Never in history has the Eucharistic sacrament been the object of such horrendous sacrileges, both on the part of the clergy and of the faithful, as is the case in our day. Therefore, once again, the apparitions of the angel of Fatima reveal in a striking manner their highly prophetic character. The Church of our day can learn from the prophetic mission of the apparitions of Fatima, the intrinsic and inseparable connection between the veneration of the Holy Eucharist and the devotion to Our Lady, especially to her Immaculate Heart. The spreading of the devotion to the Immaculate Heart must be connected simultaneously with a true renewal of Eucharistic worship, specifically with the restoration of exterior expressions of sacredness and reverence in the celebration of Holy Mass, and especially regarding the right and discipline of receiving Holy Communion.

Only then will the reign and the triumph of the Immaculate Heart come, when the reign of Christ, the Eucharistic King, is once again reestablished and restored in all its splendor throughout the entire Catholic world. Then the reign of the Immaculate Heart will come. It is intrinsically Eucharistic, and this is a prerequisite for a time of true peace in the world.

Sister Lucia considered our current time as being close to the last times, and she gave the following three reasons for this in an interview with Father Augustine Fuentes on December 26, 1957. It is worthwhile to quote her words: “The first is because Our Lady told me that the devil is engaging in a battle with the Virgin, a decisive battle. It is a final battle where one party will be victorious and the other will suffer defeat. So from now on, we are either with God or we are with the devil. There is no middle ground.”

The second reason is that Our Lady told me, as well as my cousins Jacinta and Francisco, that God is giving two last remedies to the world. These are the Holy Rosary and the devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Being the last remedies, that is to say, the final ones, means that there will be no others.

The third reason is that, in the plans of Divine Providence, when God is going to chastise the world, He always first exhausts all other remedies. When He sees that the world pays no attention whatsoever, then, as we say in our imperfect way of speaking and with a certain fear, He presents as the last means of salvation His Blessed Mother. If we despise and reject these last means, Heaven will no longer pardon us, because we will have committed a sin that the Gospel calls a sin against the Holy Spirit. This sin consists in openly rejecting, with full knowledge and will, the salvation that is placed in our hands. Also, since Our Lord is very good, a good Son, He will not permit that we offend and despise His Blessed Mother.

We have, as obvious testimony, the history of different centuries in which Our Lord has shown us, with terrible examples, how He has always defended the honor of His Blessed Mother. Prayer and sacrifice are the true means to save the world. As for the Holy Rosary, in these last times in which we are living, the Blessed Virgin has given a new efficacy to the prayer of the Holy Rosary. This is in such a way that there is no problem that cannot be resolved by praying the Rosary, no matter how difficult it is, whether temporal or, above all, spiritual in the spiritual life of each of us, in the lives of our families, in the well-being of all religious communities, or even in the lives of peoples and nations.

I repeat, says Sister Lucia, there is no problem, however difficult it may be, that we cannot resolve at this time by praying the Holy Rosary. With the Holy Rosary, we will save ourselves, sanctify ourselves, console Our Lord, and obtain the salvation of many souls. Then there is the devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, our Most Holy Mother, holding her as the seat of mercy, goodness, and pardon, and a sure door to enter Heaven. These are the words of Sister Lucia from 1957.

The relevance and timelessness of Fatima consist in preparing the Church of our day for a fearless confession of the Catholic faith, even to the point of martyrdom, as we can see in the third part of the Secret of Fatima. Nonetheless, Fatima remains a true prophetic sign of hope because Our Lady promised a time of peace and the triumph of her Immaculate Heart. Praise be Jesus Christ, now and forever.

Christopher Wendt: Now and forever. Thank you, Your Excellency, for those words on Fatima. Truly, you have brought us into contact with the words of the angel and the words of Our Lady, and it is a great joy to be with you and with Doctor Cyrilla on this special day. Personally, this is one of the happiest days of the year for me.

Now, with that, we would like to move to the next part of our program, which is to pray the Holy Rosary. In this apparition, Our Lady revealed her name, saying, “I am the Lady of the Rosary.” She also exhorted the Fatima shepherd children to continue praying the Rosary. In that spirit, Your Excellency, please lead us in the Holy Rosary, and then, Michael, you can lead the responses. We are going to pray it in English for the benefit of our audience today.

Amen.

His Excellency: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day, He rose again from the dead. He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there, He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Michael Sirilla: Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Michael Sirilla: As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

His Excellency: Oh my Jesus, forgive us, save us from the fires of Hell, and lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy.

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope, to thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us. And after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O Clement, O Loving, O Sweet Virgin Mary, pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray: O God, whose only-begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, grant we beseech thee that meditating upon these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Christopher Wendt: Thank you, Your Excellency. We are going to move now to the third part of the program, which is to celebrate one year of the Confraternity of Our Lady of Fatima. When we do this, it is simply an act of super-praise, or hyperdulia, of Our Lady. A lot has happened in one short year. Like Bishop Sheen, I’m going to ask my guardian angel to turn on the video, if he can do that now.

It looks like it’s working out pretty well. (Video Showing)

Thank you very much. I have a few closing remarks. We’ll probably go about five minutes over to 1:05. I just have a few prepared remarks to continue the celebration and expand upon the video to talk about what Our Lady has done in the Confraternity.

I want to speak to the new members. There are thousands of you all over the world. I also have a surprise for you. You’re going to love this. When I show it to you, you’ll be really amazed at what I’m about to share. First of all, I’d like to say hi to Lou and Bob from Guam. Lou, if you’re watching this, God bless you. It was so nice to meet you at the conference in Pittsburgh last week. Thank you for saying hi and for taking the time to do a selfie picture with me. It was nice to meet you and your husband, Bob, as well. I’m also happy to see a few of the others here. It’s great to have so many thousands of new members in the Confraternity.

I’d like to take a few moments to explain what the Confraternity is, what our commitments are, and what the plans are for 2022.

First off, let’s talk briefly about the history of the Confraternity. The Confraternity of Our Lady was an idea that was planted in my mind by Our Lady in the summer of 2020. I was asking, “What should we do next?” There was a small group of us, and at my company, we had made the consecration of Saint Louis de Montfort. We’d done the First Saturday devotions, and we pray the rosary every day, so we wondered, “What can we do next?” I also read and got the idea from Saint Louis de Montfort in the True Devotion about his desire to build a Confraternity. His Confraternity still exists today, and many of you belong to his Confraternity or other confraternities. But we all wanted to do something more to bring about the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and to really live out the call of Our Lady of Fatima for the rest of our lives.

And so I asked His Excellency what he thought about it, and he approved it. What is the Confraternity? When you’re asked this this is for all the new members. When you’re asked what the purpose of the Confraternity is, it’s very simple: the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. That is the whole reason why this Confraternity exists. The mission of the Confraternity is to usher in the reign of Mary. We say, if you know the Latin words, these are the words of Saint Louis de Montfort: Adveniat regnum Mariae, may the kingdom of Mary come. So our mission is to bring about the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. We are trying to gain territory on the earth for Our Lady’s kingdom. Jesus wills it to be so.

This happens in two ways. First, as lay faithful, we give ourselves completely to Our Lady year after year in the consecration according to Saint Louis de Montfort. When we do this, Our Lady takes over our hearts and begins to reign within us, and her kingdom is extended heart by heart. Through the daily rosary and the consecration, her kingdom spreads over all the earth. In a moment, I am going to show you a map of all the members, and this is my surprise. You are going to really love seeing this map. It’s amazing how this happened in one year.

The second way Our Lady triumphs is through the Pope and the bishops consecrating Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Thus far, this has not been done as Our Lady asked. This is a common question we are asked. Different popes have done consecrations, and good things have come from them, of course, but none of the popes ever actually mentioned Russia, as Our Lady requested. If you want to learn more about this, you can go to our YouTube channel, where His Excellency will explain it much better than I can.

The strategy to defeat Satan is a two-pronged attack: the foot soldiers, the lay faithful, and the general, the Pope, both working together to bring about the reality of the reign of Mary and the triumph of the Immaculate Heart. We really have no other mission or purpose.

Let’s look at the map now. I’m going to pull that up. This is the reign of Mary. In one year, each one of these pushpins represents a member. There is no personal information, just their postal code and the city where they live. We cover six continents of the world. There is nobody in Antarctica yet; I guess we are still waiting on that. But the other six continents are covered, Africa definitely, about 6,000 or so in the US. Europe is covered as well. His Excellency is right here in Kazakhstan, and then we have some members in China and other places.

You are free to see this yourself and explore it if you go to livefatima.io/map. You can see this for yourself and explore it. There is no personal information, but you can see the postal code and city where each member lives. I think one of the graces or things that will come from this is that you will be able to connect with each other somehow. I don’t know how to do this yet, but many people in Australia have been experiencing persecution by the government and a police state. They want to see other fellow Australians and get to know each other. We are going to figure that out. I will really rely on all of you and the opportunity to figure out how to make that happen. There is a need for that.

This map shows that Our Lady is already responding with her counteroffensive. Pope Pius the Ninth said something like this: “Give me an army of people praying the rosary, and I will conquer the world.” I say to His Holiness, Pope Pius the Ninth, here is an army of thousands of people who have pledged to pray the rosary every day. It is very exciting. It’s a great map. I hope you all enjoy that.

It is an honor and a privilege to live in this time and to be able to help bring about the reign of Mary. Next, I want to talk about the Philippines. The apostolate mission has organically grown by leaps and bounds in the Philippines and has become the secret weapon, or the very cornerstone, of the entire Confraternity.

Why the Philippines? Let me tell you a story. During this past summer, a lady by the name of Marsha from Boston was part of a group that had made thousands of rosaries. She was inspired to work hard to bring about the conversion of Russia and wanted the rosaries to be put into the apostolate. They were just sitting there, thousands of them. So she reached out to His Excellency and asked if she should send the rosaries to Russia so that people there would pray the rosary. There weren’t that many pushpins on Russia on the map. It was a natural thought, but His Excellency actually told her to send the rosaries to the Philippines instead, where they would pray the rosary for the conversion of Russia.

Since then, we have sent thousands of rosaries nearly every week to the Philippines to missionaries on the ground who distribute rosaries at the chapel and parish level and teach those communities how to pray the rosary and to give them the rosaries.

If you watch video coverage like I have of them giving the rosaries, you’ll be amazed. The Filipino people love the rosary and are eager to receive one. Even the simplest plastic beaded rosary is loved. They also know about Fatima and have great devotion to Our Lady of Fatima. We also created a holy card with the prayer from His Excellency that the Holy Father will consecrate Russia, translated into their native languages, Cebuano and Messiah. They love holy cards, too, and are eager to get those as well.

So what we have now is people praying the rosary and praying that the Holy Father will consecrate Russia and for the conversion of Russia.

I want to show you something interesting about Google Trends. Here’s another little show-and-tell. Let me pull it up, you’re going to be amazed by this, too. Google has a product called Google Trends, and it keeps track of who searches for what, believe it or not. The word “rosary” is searched for frequently, and this is the history of searches for the word “rosary” from 2004 all the way to the present day. Look, we are on a big spike right now. Guess which country has searched for the word “rosary” the most? I’m going to scroll down in a second. Does anyone want to take a guess?

The Philippines.

In my discernment, the Philippines is at the tip of the spear of the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. It’s them praying the rosary. This is the army that Pope Pius IX was hoping for: an army of people praying the rosary. I believe Our Lady will triumph, and the Philippines has a big role to play.

Trinidad and Qatar have a lot of Overseas Filipino Workers, so that’s why they are there. Of course, you have Uganda and Kenya. If we look at the next five countries, thank God we are in the United States. I’m proud that we’re at least in the top ten. Ireland is there, the United Arab Emirates again (due to many Filipinos working there), and then Nigeria and Ghana.

This is probably how the apostolate will grow, and this is how the triumph of the Immaculate Heart will happen in many ways.

I just have five more minutes, and I want to talk about our commitments now that we’ve made as members of the Confraternity. There have been a lot of questions, and I want to clarify them. We are committing to five things: confession once a month, the daily rosary, which is one-third of the rosary, meaning five decades, one daily act of simple penance, wearing the scapular every day, and praying for the Holy Father to consecrate Russia by saying the prayer that His Excellency wrote.

Regarding confession during the Coronavirus pandemic, many people are asking, “I don’t know if I can go to confession because my priest isn’t hearing confessions, or I can’t get out, or whatever.” I would say to that: just do your best. Have the intention to go and make the effort to go to confession as soon as you can. Don’t let the current impossibility of going to confession in your area keep you from joining the Confraternity. Just have the intention, and then when it becomes possible, try to go every month. It’s a great way to keep your heart pure and in the spirit of what Our Lady wants. Our Lady said today that Jesus, our Lord, is already much offended. The best way for us to work on that is to go to confession once a month.

Now, regarding simple penance, there have been a lot of questions about that. It’s really simple. As adults, we look to the faith of the children in Fatima.

Now, what did the children do? Some of their practices included wearing a cord around their waist, not drinking water when they were hot and thirsty, giving their lunch to children in need in the neighborhood, and things of that nature. So whatever penance means to you, it’s very subjective. What I would recommend could be something like this: if you love coffee, give up coffee, don’t drink it. That might be a big sacrifice for some people. You could skip a meal if you like, or run an extra mile and make it an act of penance. Whatever it is, do it as reparation for your sins, the sins of your family and friends, and those in purgatory.

The scapular is the last commitment. People often wonder what kind of scapular to wear, green or brown, metal or cloth. The scapular was given by Our Lady to Saint Simon Stock. It’s a piece of brown cloth that represents the Carmelite habit. When we wear it, it is a sign that we are consecrated to Our Lady, that we are her property and possession. So we want to wear a brown scapular made of cloth. We want a priest to enroll us in the scapular if we haven’t been enrolled yet. On the website, the scapulars we have for sale include the prayers a priest needs to say for enrollment.

Finally, a reminder to pray that the Holy Father will consecrate Russia. This is an important part of bringing about the reign of Mary. The prayer is on the website, and you can also buy packs of 50 printed copies if you wish.

Now, real quickly, in about a minute, I want to talk about what we want to do in 2022. Believe it or not, in one year, we have hired two part-time people: a national director for the Philippines who runs the apostolate there, and a part-time person managing all requests and communications related to religious exemptions. We have helped thousands of people. I won’t give the exact number, but many have applied for religious exemptions in the United States, and we’ve heard back from some who have successfully had their exemptions approved. We rejoice in that and are very thankful to Your Excellency for offering this relief to thousands of Americans.

By the end of 2022, here are my goals:

  • Teach 250 local families in Cebu and Bucha Nam through the rosary, giving rosaries to all family members along with some groceries.
  • Distribute 12,000 rosaries through parishes and chapels throughout Bucha and Cebu.
  • Provide 25 chapels with rosaries and a small stipend for improvements.
  • Distribute 12,000 prayer cards praying for the Holy Father to consecrate Russia.
  • Have 50 new consecrations associated with the Confraternity.
  • Develop new apostolic works with 50 new apostles.
  • Distribute 12 new statues of Our Lady to those who have dedicated their lives to her.
  • Gain 50,000 new worldwide members.

I truly believe we will continue with emails and live broadcasts, one week a month for a Q&A session, the other month going through the Roman Catechism.

But finally, I want to say this, Your Excellency: we’re so grateful to you that we will pray a nine-day novena in thanksgiving to Our Lady of Fatima, starting tomorrow and continuing for the next nine days. Our intention will be for you—for your safe trip back home and for your Episcopal ministry. I’ll be publishing the novena in an email tomorrow, and we’ll keep track of how many people join in prayer. Know that thousands of people will be praying for you over the next nine days.

A prayer to Our Lady of Fatima for your intentions, Your Excellency.

Could you please close us with a prayer? And if you have any remarks or a blessing, please share them.

His Excellency: I would like to express, on this occasion, my heartfelt thanks to you, my dear Christopher, for all that you are doing. I believe that Our Lady has chosen you as her little apostle for this time. I pray for you, may God bless you abundantly, and may all our members always serve with joy and humility to contribute to the coming of the reign of Our Lady, which, as I have said, is the reign of Jesus Christ. The Eucharist is inseparable: Jesus and Mary.

So, I impart my blessings to all of you, the members, the supporters, all those assisting with this broadcast, and especially to you, dear Mr. Wendt, and to all your helpers.

Dominus vobiscum.

Christopher Wendt: Et cum spiritu tuo.

His Excellency: Et benedictio Dei Omnipotentis: Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti,
descendat super vos et maneat semper. Amen.

Praise be our Lord Jesus Christ!

Christopher Wendt: Now and forever!

Thank you, Your Excellency. Thank you.
