Be Like St. Joseph: Advice to Fathers from Bishop Athanasius Schneider

Interview Organization: TANBooksOfficial
Date: December 25, 2022
Every Catholic father is called to be like St. Joseph, who serves as the ultimate model of fatherhood. Through his actions rather than words, St. Joseph demonstrated protective, guiding, and holy paternal care. Catholic fathers should reflect his quiet strength and love to help their children grow in faith.

Transcript:

Every Catholic father is, in a way, a kind of Joseph. There is no better example of a Catholic father than St. Joseph, because God gave us this man as a model not so much through words, but through his example. He showed true paternal goodness that children could trust, a goodness that protects, guides, and quietly leads by living a holy example.

Like St. Joseph, a Catholic father’s role is to embody that steadfast care and gentle strength, so that his children feel safe, loved, and inspired to grow in faith.
