Host: We are a little more than one day away from the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I want to provide a few updates based on the comments that you all have left.
The first is, where can I find the consecration prayer? It has been released. You can look at it at the link below. It is a pretty long prayer, several pages long, but I want to highlight the most important part, which is the consecration verbiage. It states, therefore, Mother of God and our mother, to your Immaculate Heart, we solemnly entrust and consecrate ourselves, the Church and all humanity, especially Russia and Ukraine.
Timothy Gordon did a great interview with Bishop Athanasius Schneider, where he asked him if this consecration verbiage was sufficient. He said that it was. This bishop is fluent in Portuguese, the original language of the message, and he said it was sufficient. It is good to hear his optimism, and we will see what happens.
If you want to see the full consecration prayer, click the link that says consecration prayer in the description below.
Now, other questions are, how can I participate in this? This is something really unique. Pope Francis issued a letter where he said, quote, I ask you to join in this act by inviting the priests, religious, and faithful to assemble in their churches and places of prayer on 25 March, so that God’s holy people may raise a heartfelt and choral plea to Mary our mother.
Based on this, I know several churches in my area that are having Masses on Friday that typically would not. That is a good sign. You can join them. Also, if you click the How to Join link in the description below, it shows the EWTN coverage so you can follow along there as well.
A third comment that was raised is, Pope Benedict is going to be joining as well. Yes, he will be. It will be done privately.
The number one objection that I have heard to all this consecration, as Pope Francis did in order, Taylor Marshall actually did a great episode with Matt Gaspers where they go through all the different verbiage from several translations and recordings of Sister Lucia. You can check that out. The long story short is that they are hopeful. Obviously, we will not know until it happens. They said this is better than any previous consecration done by a pontiff. So good news there.
Now I want to go into the first five Saturdays. I mentioned that previously. Here is a quote from Our Lady of Fatima that I found on fatima.org, where she said, For five months on the first Saturday, confess, receive Holy Communion, recite the Rosary, and keep me company for 15 minutes while meditating on the 15 Mysteries of the Rosary.
You may ask, why five? What is the significance of five? Why can it not just be two or seven or whatever it is? Well, these five Saturdays are to make reparation. First, for blasphemies against the Immaculate Conception. Second, blasphemies against her virginity. Third, blasphemies against the divine maternity, refusing at the same time to receive her as the mother of mankind. Fourth, for those who speak publicly to implant in the hearts of children indifference, disrespect, and even hate for this Immaculate Mother. And fifth, for those who revile her directly in her sacred images.
So the five First Saturdays are to make reparation for those offenses against the Immaculate Heart of Mary and offenses that make Jesus very sad.
In review, Our Lady asked for five First Saturdays to go to confession. The sacramental confession can be made within eight days before or after the reception of Communion, provided that the communicant was in a state of grace for that Communion. Second, receive Holy Communion. Third, say five decades of the Rosary. Fourth, meditate on the 15 Mysteries of the Rosary.
I like that last one because originally she said to keep me company for 15 minutes or a quarter of an hour. Isn’t that neat that at this time we are keeping Mary company? It is such a neat thing, and one that I have really benefited from. I have done this several times.
I have heard that if you do your five First Saturdays, then the next five First Saturdays you can do for someone else, but I cannot find a source for that. I have a link in the description below for the Fatima Center, and they also could not find a source for that. I think it is a beautiful thing to do, to offer it to someone else. Mary is our mother. She loves us and will give the grace as necessary, seeing the love that we have for souls and the love that she has for them as well.
I hope this summary has been helpful.
The first Saturday coming up next is April 2, so please consider doing that and following Our Lady’s instructions to bring peace upon Earth. I hope that you will be able to participate in the consecration on Friday, and I hope and pray that God will shower immense graces upon the Earth due to this consecration.
Hope you have a blessed day, and God loves you.
