Well, Cardinal Müller himself, I think, one or two years ago on EWTN, used this expression regarding the situation in the Holy See under Pope Francis. Cardinal Müller said there is a hostile takeover. Imagine such an expression, a hostile takeover. If this is not an emergency, then what should be considered an emergency?
I repeat the teaching attributed to Pope Francis that all religions may go to God and that this is his will, and also the question of blessings for homosexual couples. Is this not an emergency? There is a widespread and evident confusion in doctrine, and continued public statements by bishops and cardinals, without hesitation, promoting errors and presenting them under various pretexts, including references to so-called LGBT communities. There are also controversial events and expressions in places associated with the Church. Is this not a sign of an emergency situation?
Then there is the chaos in the liturgy throughout the world. There is also the situation with the German so-called synodal way, where positions are stated and voted on by bishops, and the Holy See is not intervening. Is this not an emergency? We could continue. I think only a blind person would say that there is no emergency situation.
This reminds me of a famous French comedy. It is just fine, my lady Marquise. I will recount it. There was a noble lady who had a castle, and she went on holiday, leaving four butlers at home. Before returning, she called one of the butlers and asked about the situation. He answered, all is just fine, my lady, only one small thing not worth mentioning, your beloved horse died. She then called another and asked what had happened. He said, all is fine, only a small matter not worth mentioning, the stable burned, and that is why the horse died. She then called a third and asked why the stable burned. He answered, all is fine, only a small matter, the castle burned, and the fire spread to the stable. Finally, she called the last butler and asked what had happened. He explained that her husband had gone bankrupt and took his own life in the castle, and a candle caused a fire that spread, burning the castle, then the stable, and then the horse. But he still concluded, the rest is all just fine.
This is a comedy, but I speak seriously. It is not something to laugh about. This is how the situation appears, and yet some say there is no emergency, that everything is just fine, like in the story of the lady Marquise.
