Question 30 – During The Pandemic Can I Home church If I Cannot Find a Reverent Novus Ordo Mass?

Interview Organization: Confraternity of Our Lady of Fatima
Interviewer Name: Christopher P. Wendt
Date: March 13, 2021
If the irreverence and heresies in the parish are severe, it may be justified to avoid attending that parish. Just as in Soviet times, where my family would travel long distances to attend a proper Mass, you could consider making a similar sacrifice, even if it’s only once a month. It’s important to seek out a place where the faith is practiced with reverence and doctrinal fidelity, ensuring a proper environment for worship and spiritual growth.
If you like what we do and want to regularly support our mission to build the Reign of Mary and/or assist the episcopal ministry of Bishop Athanasius Schneider, please consider becoming a Servant of Mary.

It depends on the extent of the irreverence in that parish. I cannot determine the situation here. But if the irreverence, the heresies, and the doctrine that the priest is preaching and practicing are dangerous, then I suggest that you don't go there. It is justified if you just stay at home, as we did during Soviet times. My father organized at least once a month, a real trip to another region to attend a Sunday Mass. We all make the sacrifice of traveling 140 miles round trip for Sunday Mass. Our Sunday trips to Mass were one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. So in this case, I would suggest that you do this not necessarily every Sunday but at least once a month, depending on the distance.
