Question 117 – Can You Ask Your Guardian Angel To Pray With You?

Interview Organization: Confraternity of Our Lady of Fatima
Interviewer Name: Christopher P. Wendt

It is both permissible and advisable to invite the angels to join in prayer. Saints have practiced this, and Scripture mentions angels carrying our prayers to God. During Mass, the Church invites angels to participate. In private prayer, inviting your guardian angel, like in Fatima, enriches the experience.
If you like what we do and want to regularly support our mission to build the Reign of Mary and/or assist the episcopal ministry of Bishop Athanasius Schneider, please consider becoming a Servant of Mary.

It is not only permissible but highly advisable. The saints have engaged in this practice, and the Holy Scripture even mentions that angels carry our prayers to the throne of God. During the Holy Mass, the Church explicitly invites the angels to join us in singing the Sanctus. They are active participants in our prayers during every Holy Mass.

In your private prayers, it would be wonderful to invite your guardian angel to accompany you and join you in prayer. The example from Fatima, where the angel of Fatima prayed with the children, “My God, I believe, I adore”, is a beautiful illustration of this practice.
