I don't know. We have to ask the Pope about this personally. He has to answer this. But it is said that the Pope publicly associates and praises these people who are promoting an agenda against Christianity, against the commandments of God, and Christian society. This is serious, and the pope should not do this. Of course, in principle, he can receive any politician as the head of state of the Vatican, but he also has to set some boundaries and conditions, to witness the Christian faith publicly.
For example, when Hitler came to Rome, Pope Pius XI left for Castel Gandolfo in order not to receive and see Hitler even though the Holy See and the German Reich or the Third Reich had diplomatic relationships. The Pope said, “I cannot receive Hitler.” But Hitler was received by all other politicians in Europe before the Second World War. Only the Holy See refused to meet him publicly.
This is just an example. I don’t mean to compare Hitler with the politicians that you mentioned. No, I do not compare him but I only wanted to show the principle that in some cases or situations, the pope should put some conditions in meeting or supporting someone and publicly declare the Catholic principles and say that the Catholic Church is not supporting any agenda of this politician.
