Q314 – If my loved ones are not in heaven, will I be aware of their fate in heaven?

Perfect happiness exists only in eternity with God, where sadness cannot exist. Even if we are aware that some loved ones are not with us there, God's grace will ensure our complete joy. Meanwhile, we must pray and make sacrifices so our relatives may repent before death, trusting God will hear us.

I think these are very human considerations. In eternity, our happiness, our beatitude, will be full and completely perfect. We cannot be happier than we will be with God for all eternity. That is complete happiness. There cannot be even the smallest trace of sadness. It is impossible. Sadness would contradict the very state of eternal happiness. This is true.

Regarding this, we do not know whether we will be aware in eternity that some of our relatives are not there with us. I do not know. But even if we were aware, it would be the work of Almighty God that we would still be completely happy. This is certain.

As for the second part of the question, we have to pray and make sacrifices for our relatives, our children, and grandchildren, so that at least before they die, they may repent. God will hear these prayers. We must make a promise to God and to Our Lady to offer a daily act of love, a prayer, a commitment for this intention. For example, we may pray, "Let my son, my daughter, my grandson, my granddaughter die at least in a state of repentance at the last moment." And we can trust that God, who is so good to us, will hear our prayers.
