Q315 – What are your thoughts on the Holy Father’s cancellation of five Latin Masses in Tyler, Texas?

Interview Organization: The Confraternity of Our Lady of Fatima

The Holy See is seen as unjustly persecuting the Traditional Latin Mass and faithful Catholics who are loyal to the Church and its leaders. Despite marginalization, these faithful are urged to remain peaceful, prayerful, and committed. Their perseverance in preserving the ancient liturgy is viewed as a spiritually blessed response to current trials.

Well, this is an evident situation. The Holy See is clearly persecuting the Traditional Latin Mass. And in doing so, it is persecuting good Catholics who are not sedevacantists, who are not schismatics, but who truly love Pope Francis, who love their bishop, and who simply want to pray as their grandfathers did, as the saints did. And for this reason alone, they are being marginalized. They are being publicly discriminated against.

Such actions from the Holy See will certainly go down in history, after our time, as a great injustice carried out by those who now hold power in the Church. But in spite of this, the faithful must continue to hold firmly to the Holy Mass, the liturgy of the saints of all ages. They must not become angry, but rather respond with more prayer for the Pope, that he may be enlightened and may restore the freedom of worship. He must stop the persecution of a part of his own flock, and embrace them with the same words he so often repeats: that there is room for all.

So, continue to pray. Continue to be creative and resourceful in finding ways to ensure that the celebration of this Holy Mass of all time may continue. You may now find yourself in a situation of persecution, as I once experienced. We rarely had Mass. We had to travel long distances. But this is a very blessed situation, even if, from a human point of view, it may seem sorrowful. From the perspective of eternity, from the eyes of God, it is a blessed time nonetheless.
