Q352 – Can someone explain why Bishop Schneider supports the Novus Ordo, despite its perceived issues with tradition?

As a bishop, you affirm that while you prefer the traditional Latin Mass, the Novus Ordo, when celebrated reverently with the Roman Canon, traditional offertory prayers, no Communion in the hand, and without female servers or lectors is not heretical. You accept it in conscience and hope for its future reform or replacement.
If you like what we do and want to regularly support our mission to build the Reign of Mary and/or assist the episcopal ministry of Bishop Athanasius Schneider, please consider becoming a Servant of Mary.

Yes, well, I am a Catholic bishop in charge of an inner diocese, and I cannot avoid celebrating the Novus Ordo. Otherwise, I would have to renounce and resign, and go to a monastery. In my conscience, however, the Novus Ordo is not heretical. It is not wrong to celebrate it, one can celebrate it with reverence.
I repeat, I use the ancient offertory prayers and only the First Roman Canon.

Why should that be bad? I see no valid reason why this form of the Mass should be considered bad when it is celebrated in such a manner using only the Roman Canon, using the traditional offertory prayers, not giving Communion in the hand. We also do not have female altar servers or female lectors. Why, then, should it be bad?

Of course, I would prefer to celebrate the full traditional order of the Mass. But since that is not possible in my situation, I do the best I can with what is available, hoping that, in time, the Novus Ordo will either be withdrawn by the Pope or by a future Pope or changed in such a way that it becomes very similar to the traditional Mass.
