Yes, this is the tradition of the Church because outside of the Church means outside of Christ which means there is no salvation. The Church is the mystical body of Christ. Christ is the only way towards salvation, this is the truth. He said, “I am the way,” so the truth is the way and the life.
Expressively, the church teaches through Pope Pius IX in the 19th century (and it has been constantly repeated) that when a person, who is incapable or is not personally guilty of not knowing the Catholic Faith, either as a non-Catholic Christian or even from another religions, yet this person at the same time, try to do the will of God. to live His commandments, and has a pure heart, the will to do what God wills, and is visibly ignorant, this person can be saved in an extraordinary means which only God knows.
But, this is important: this person can be saved and live God's commandments only through the grace of Jesus Christ. Even though this person is not fully aware, yet is a person of character who only lives the commandment of God, it is only with the help of the graces of Jesus Christ, the redeeming graces. Therefore, such a person in the extraordinary case can still be saved by Jesus Christ and not outside Him. We do not know if such a person with an innocent heart exists but only God knows, and there may be so many people.
Therefore, the Church is morally obligated to proclaim Jesus Christ and evangelize everyone, including non-Christians, and present Christ as the full truth to them with love.
