Question 161 – What can we do now to lessen our time in Purgatory?

Interview Organization: Confraternity of Our Lady of Fatima
Interviewer Name: Christopher P. Wendt
Date: January 13, 2023
Trust in Divine Mercy, as God, our Father, will never abandon His children. Believing in His love alleviates worries about being forgotten in purgatory. The Church prays for all souls there, including those without specific names. Many Masses are offered for them, ensuring they are remembered and supported.
If you like what we do and want to regularly support our mission to build the Reign of Mary and/or assist the episcopal ministry of Bishop Athanasius Schneider, please consider becoming a Servant of Mary.

Transcript:

Well, you have to trust in Divine Mercy because God is our Father, and He will never abandon His children who trust in Him. How can a father abandon his children? When you truly believe in the fatherly love of God for you, you don't have to worry about being in purgatory without anyone praying for you. The Church prays for all souls in purgatory, every single one.

You will also be remembered, not personally by name, but in every Mass, the Church is praying for the deceased souls in purgatory. Many Catholics are praying for those souls for whom no one is praying, and there are even masses celebrated for them. I have personally celebrated masses with the intention that people gave me for those souls in purgatory for whom no one is praying.

Therefore, don't be worried because you will also be prayed for in purgatory.
