Question 174 – How should we interpret the Pope’s words of support for homosexuality and homosexual couples?

Interview Organization: Confraternity of Our Lady of Fatima
Interviewer Name: Christopher P. Wendt

The Pope's ambiguous stance on homosexuality creates confusion. While same-sex attraction isn't a crime, homosexual acts are viewed as blasphemous. Moderate civil penalties may help prevent moral decline. Inviting homosexual couples to church can promote their lifestyle, so the Pope should encourage separation and chaste living for children's proper upbringing.

Transcript:

We have to lament at this confusion that the Pope is spreading. It is so ambiguous, we have to be careful with our words when we discuss homosexuality. When we say, homosexuality, it could be a tendency or attraction to the same sex. Homosexuality, in this case, is not a crime. But when we say homosexual acts, this is a crime because it is against nature and against the Creator. It is blasphemy against the Creator because homosexual acts are deeply blasphemous and against the order of our God. Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. We are created so beautifully by God, and we are dishonoring our bodies with such homosexual acts.

It is a crime against God and could also be a civil offense. Of course, there should be moderate punishment and not extreme ones for homosexual acts. I think that the government has the right to establish this to prevent this kind of sexual epidemic. If it is not controlled, it spreads to young people. It is a sexual and moral epidemic. In this case, the state can apply some moderate punishments and restrictions on the civil level.

Inviting homosexuals or so-called homosexual couples to bring their children to church produces a big confusion because, in this way, it promotes their lifestyle. I think that the Pope should not do this, and he has to tell them that they have to separate because their union is a scandal, and they are living in public sin against the order of God.

The Pope should say, “I ask you with all seriousness and love to separate and live a chaste life in the grace of God and do good works. Give the children to a heterosexual married couple who will raise them according to the laws of God and the Church.”
