Question 177 – How can I grow in courage and fortitude amidst these troubling times?

Interview Organization: Confraternity of Our Lady of Fatima
Interviewer Name: Christopher P. Wendt
Date: March 13, 2023
To practice courage, start with small acts, such as making the Sign of the Cross in public or politely disagreeing with inappropriate language at work. When confronted with blasphemy, calmly state the truth without engaging in arguments. These actions help develop and demonstrate the virtue of courage.
If you like what we do and want to regularly support our mission to build the Reign of Mary and/or assist the episcopal ministry of Bishop Athanasius Schneider, please consider becoming a Servant of Mary.

Transcript:

Well, when you recognize the lack of courage in you, then it is helpful to practice the virtue of courage through concrete acts. For example, when you are driving or traveling to a public place such as a restaurant before you eat your food, make a visible Sign of the Cross in front of others, it would be a small sign already. In your workplace, for example, when your colleagues are speaking foul words or are cursing others, politely disagree with them.

When Our Lord, Our Lady, or the Church is being blasphemed, then you disagree and speak the truth. These are just some examples. You need not engage in polemics or child play because it is not helpful, just calmly state the truth. This would be small acts of courage.
