Question 232 – How Can We Convince Our Protestant Loved Ones?

Interview Organization: Confraternity of Our Lady of Fatima
Interviewer Name: Christopher Wendt
Date: November 13, 2023
The basic Gospel teaching is that salvation comes from doing God's will, not just professing faith. Jesus said, "Not everyone who says 'Lord, Lord' will be saved, but only those who do the will of My Father." St. James affirms that faith without works is dead, urging reflection for those influenced by Luther’s ideology.

Transcript:

This is the basic teaching of the Gospel. Our Lord said, "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will be saved, but only those who do the will of My Father." This is very clear. St. James, inspired by the Holy Spirit, echoes this truth because all of the New Testament is inspired by the Word of God.

St. James says, "Faith without works is dead," meaning that faith is helped and made alive by works and deeds. And our Lord said that those who love Him are the ones who do the will of His Father.

Therefore, I think that our brothers and sisters who are victims of the ideology of Martin Luther need to reflect and reconsider, in light of these crystal-clear words of our Lord in the Gospel.
