Many schisms and sects that departed from the Catholic Church, like Martin Luther, aimed to abolish celibacy. Luther, a Catholic priest and monk, claimed celibacy was invented by the devil. Yes, we have seen many schisms, almost-schisms, and sects that have departed from the Catholic Church (Roman Catholic Church). There are plenty of examples of individuals or groups.

One of the first things they did was abolish celibacy. Martin Luther, who was a Catholic celibate priest and monk, was one of them.

He abolished celibacy and even claimed that the devil invented celibacy. Similarly, in the 19th century, those who broke away from the Church also abolished celibacy and other practices. There are plenty of examples of this throughout history.
