Question 254 – What is our approach in handling the current situation with Fiducia Supplicans?

Interview Organization: The Confraternity of Our Lady of Fatima
Interviewer Name: Christopher Wendt
Date: March 14, 2024
As Catholics, we must express concern over blessings of same-sex or adulterous relationships, which publicly endorse sin and violate God's commandments. These acts promote sin within society and the Church, making them gravely sinful. Our response should include respectful protest, acts of reparation, prayer, and support for those involved, focusing on peaceful, discreet actions.
If you like what we do and want to regularly support our mission to build the Reign of Mary and/or assist the episcopal ministry of Bishop Athanasius Schneider, please consider becoming a Servant of Mary.

Transcript:

We must express our concern, this is our duty as Catholics. Such blessings are an abomination and a public endorsement of sin. Blessing same-sex couples or adulterous relationships is a grave offense against God's commandments, sins that cry out for justice. These blessings are also a public endorsement of sin, justifying and promoting these sinful relationships within society and the Church.

These blessings, in effect, promote sin in both society and the Church, which is gravely sinful and even blasphemous, as sacred things are being used to promote sin. Therefore, we must protest against this, respectfully presenting our arguments. However, I believe the most important action is performing acts of reparation in the Church for these sins. We should pray for those who request such blessings, as well as for bishops, priests, and clergy who permit or promote them.

These acts of reparation can be done publicly or discreetly, at the location where these events occur, without causing controversy, focusing on prayer, letter-writing, and peaceful protest.
