Yes, first, we need to clarify the nature of God. God is not a body; God is a pure spirit. Therefore, there is no sex or gender in God, because God is a pure spirit. Sex and the distinction of sexes are characteristics of human beings, animals, plants, and other created things, but not of God. This is something we must be very clear about because pagans and Gnostics have often attributed sex to their deities, which is not true. This is a pagan belief.
However, God revealed Himself to us with a title that is familiar and known to us: Father. God came to us, incarnated, and became a man, taking on the male sex.
God revealed Himself as the Holy Trinity, with the titles Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Therefore, the relationship between the divine persons the first person and the second is Father and Son. But this is not to be understood in a biological sense, as we would apply it to human relationships. The relationship between the Father and the Son is completely different. It is a spiritual relationship, not the same as that of a biological father and son. The title "Father" was revealed to us so that we might recognize and invoke God as our Father. Furthermore, we, as children of God, are adopted through Christ.
In Christ, it is only possible for us to become children of God not by nature, but by grace, through faith, and through baptism. This is the divine revelation. Therefore, Christ, the second divine person, is the Son by title, and He became a man, taking on male human nature. However, this does not mean that God has sex. We must distinguish between Christ's divine nature and His human nature. In His human nature, He took on the male sex, but human nature itself is not inherently male or female human nature is common to both. Christ, however, took on a male body to reflect His eternal title in God as the Son.
This is a mystery that we cannot fully understand, but it is part of divine revelation. We must believe that God revealed Himself as Father, and in the Holy Trinity, He is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The title "Father" is also another name for the second person of the Trinity, the Word of God. Therefore, sonship is completely spiritual, like the Word.
We are now entering the mystery of the Holy Trinity, which we must accept with humility, simplicity, faith, and adoration. We cannot delve deeper, but we know that God has revealed Himself with this title, not in the physical or bodily sense of father and son as we understand it. It is a completely spiritual and unique relationship, one that is mysterious and supernatural the Father begot the Son in a way beyond our comprehension.
