Bishop Athanasius Schneider says the promotion of individuals who publicly support immoral behavior reflects the depth of the Church’s crisis. He urges prayer for their conversion and repentance, and for the Pope to remove them from positions of authority and encourage public retraction of their errors.

This is a harsh reality that we must confront in the Church: individuals who publicly promote immoral behaviors are sometimes elevated within the Church hierarchy. It is a clear demonstration of how deep the crisis in the Church has become.

Unfortunately, we cannot change this; it is the Pope’s decision. All we can do is pray for the conversion of these Cardinals, that they may save their souls through repentance. We also pray for the Pope to take action, to remove them from their positions, and assign them tasks that may lead to their conversion and repentance. When such actions occur, they should publicly retract their errors. Therefore, prayer is essential in addressing these issues.
